My life, like most people, is made up of different personas.
At home, I'm the proud mom of 3 teens, Gavin, Gabriella, and Gracyn, and a cat named Alice. I recently became the wife of a fantastic golf-loving automotive engineer, Todd. I'm also a daughter, a sister, an auntie, and a friend.
At work, I'm a collector of career experiences as a passionate leader of people, processes, systems, and workplace culture.
I have a BA in Psychology from the University of Michigan. During my time there, I became most interested in developmental psychology and organizational psychology (because there weren't even HR programs back then)! Like most Psych majors, I wanted to understand people, be helpful, and save the world and that hasn't changed.
I spent the early part of my career in Human Resources as a Generalist. I got engaged (for the first time), and my fiance's family owned a business. I was honored when they asked me to work for them. I spent my time helping them identify system and process improvements, and boy, I found them! When I had our first child, my husband purchased the technology arm of that business. We ran it for five years, had two more children in that time, and like many businesses in 2008, we lost it. In fact, we lost everything. We moved into my parent's house with our three kids, our dog, and our cat - and shortly after that, we started the divorce process - which was the most terrifying thing I've ever done. I tell this story because we all have defining moments; this was a big one for me.
Since then, I've had an enormous passion for helping single moms (or soon-to-be single moms) work through the scariest moments. Nothing is more rewarding for me than meeting a mom working to survive and keep her children safe, blossoming into the person she is meant to be. I know what it feels like and how gratifying it is to know you're part of their story.
Since I re-started my corporate career, I have had a whole new appreciation for the importance of strong and engaging leadership. I've been fortunate to help shape many people's experiences at work because of the roles I've gotten to play in leadership of mid-sized companies as a dot connector, ensuring that systems, people, processes, and culture are all set up for success. I have watched people navigate challenges and celebrate accomplishments and I LOVE IT!
Most importantly though, what has become evident to me over the course of the last 10+ years is that we all need SPACE AND GRACE in our defining moments to figure our stuff out. In the summer of 2021, when I finally got to marry my person, I began the journey of becoming a certified professional coach. I love what I get to do with clients who choose me, and I look forward to partnering with you!
